Our daily activities and the choices we make, have the potential to affect the environment. This includes what we do at home, how we travel, what we do at work and how we spend our money. Whilst the actions of governments and business are key to achieving environmental protection, as individuals we can also make a big difference to our planet and the environment.
Sometimes it’s hard to see where any one person can make a difference. After all, the environment is everyone’s responsibility – government, business and individuals. We think the best place to start is to understand what the issues are for our environment, the challenges we’re facing and what the causes are. By taking the time to Learn More we’ll start to see the impact that these environmental issues could have on our planet, our lives, and on future generations.
The Greatest Race on Earth website features information about environmental issues and here you will find two fun interactive tools. They’re there for you to explore the environmental impacts of things you do everyday. You can calculate the carbon dioxide emitted from your household and travel activities via the Carbon Calculator – a unique tool that covers 57 countries. Then, take a tour of “My Environment” to see some of the everyday decisions at home and work you can take to make a positive difference.
There is lots of information available. Are you ready to get to know what’s going on and how to take action? Pledge to Learn More.
